Cabañas San Isidro has
built a completely secluded Retreat Cabin on their ranch in
the Sierra Tarahumara, only a 10-minute walk from their main
facility, especially for our clients! Facing the glorious
sunsets of the west, it overlooks a canyon and the village
lights of Cerocahui miles in the distance.
The cabin, which has
separate rooms on two levels, has no electricity, so night
lighting is by candles and oil lamps. Hot water is generated
from a wood-fired water heater and room heat comes from a
wood stove in one room and a fireplace in the other. Cozy
all-wool blankets, woven by the local Tarahumara, grace the
beds. There is no maid service for the week, so you make
your own bed. It’s simple and perfect for its purpose.
Your time here is
completely unstructured. You can choose from quite a
selection of nearby vantage points where you can meditate,
read and relax, or take walks into the canyon below or to
many scenic and secluded destinations. Of course, all the
amenities of Cabañas San Isidro are available—horseback
riding, guided hikes, excursions, massages, healing
treatments—for an additional charge. And instead of having
meals their dining room, all included of course, you could
even have your meals brought to you for the cost of a tip!
